About
ShrimpSocial is an independent community site for aquarium shrimp keepers. It exists so that people who keep Neocaridina and Caridina, from cherry shrimp to Crystal Red, have a place to share their tanks, ask each other questions and build up knowledge together. The same community is also available in Turkish at karidesnest.com.
What you will find here
- Community feed: members share photos of their tanks and shrimp together with their water parameters, comment, follow each other and send messages. Posts in other languages can be translated with one tap.
- Collection and lineage: every member can log their tanks, the lines they keep and their generations.
- Verified breeders: members who breed shrimp can apply to become a verified breeder. When a member names the breeder their shrimp came from and the breeder confirms it, the link appears on the record, so the lineage of a line can be traced.
- Guides: free care guides on tank setup, water parameters, feeding, breeding, health problems and species.
How the guides are written
The guides are based on information widely accepted in the shrimp hobby and are checked for accuracy before they are published. If you spot a mistake, let us know and we will fix it. Values can differ depending on where your shrimp came from and on your water; the guides are a starting point.
